At under 26 years old, Maame Akua Oti Ameyaa has already made a significant mark as the CEO of Oti’s Brands Castle. Her entrepreneurial journey began during her university years at the University of Ghana, where she pursued a degree in economics. Starting from Level 100, Maame ventured into business by selling phones. As she progressed to Level 200, her business expanded to include clothing sales. By Level 300, Maame had diversified further, adding ice cream and hair products to her portfolio.
One key turning point for Maame was when she decided to give her hair products a more professional look by designing custom packaging. This move not only enhanced the appeal of her products but also attracted more orders from her peers. This success led her to establish Oti’s Brands Castle, a printing business that caters to various clients.
Reflecting on her journey, Maame acknowledges the challenges of being a young entrepreneur. Building trust and convincing others of her capabilities took time and effort. Raising capital was another obstacle she faced early on. Despite her age, Maame encountered clients who attempted to exert control and show disrespect. However, she also found support from clients who appreciated her work, understanding that such challenges are part of the entrepreneurial experience.
Oti’s Brands Castle has served a diverse range of clients, including corporate entities, restaurants, boutiques, and government agencies. Maame vividly remembers her first clients, who approached her during her hair-selling days. She provided printing services for a funeral after her uncle’s passing, marking the beginning of her journey into the printing business.
Initially, Maame’s father was hesitant about her entrepreneurial pursuits, preferring she prioritize her education. However, he eventually became a staunch supporter, and Maame credits her family for their unwavering encouragement throughout her entrepreneurial endeavors.
Maame Akua Oti Ameyaa’s story exemplifies determination, resilience, and the entrepreneurial spirit, making her a role model for aspiring young business leaders.
