Ghana She Created A Fashion Brand For Kids

Alexandra Morgan’s path to entrepreneurship took unexpected turns from her academic background in statistics and actuarial science. Working initially in the insurance and real estate sectors, she eventually found her true passion in the world of fashion, culminating in the establishment of her successful fashion brand, Palace.

In 2016, Alexandra ventured into entrepreneurship with Maternity Solutions GH, a business specializing in creating baby hampers for new mothers. However, it was a client’s request in 2018 that sparked a new direction. Asked to craft a Tutu skirt and customized top, Alexandra saw an opportunity and thus birthed Tutu Palace in 2019. This fashion house focuses on designing and sewing exquisite clothing for children aged 2 to 12 years old.

Transitioning into the fashion industry wasn’t initially part of Alexandra’s plan. Reflecting on her journey, she admitted that if someone had told her years ago that she would thrive in fashion, she would have been skeptical. Life’s unpredictable twists, however, led her to discover her flair for creating unique and luxurious outfits.

One of the challenges Alexandra faces in the kids’ fashion business is sourcing quality materials. Approximately 60% of Palace’s raw materials are imported from Nigeria, China, and Dubai, ensuring the high standards she upholds for her brand.

When asked about her perspective on Ghana’s fashion industry, Alexandra highlighted the need for improvement and greater competitiveness. She emphasized the importance of exploring international markets to stay abreast of global trends, citing examples from thriving fashion scenes in South Africa and Nigeria.

What sets Tutu Palace apart from other brands, according to Alexandra, is its dedication to crafting one-of-a-kind, handmade garments with meticulous attention to detail. Each visit to Tutu Palace promises a new and exclusive experience, showcasing Alexandra’s creativity and commitment to excellence.

In a world where unexpected opportunities can lead to remarkable success stories, Alexandra Morgan’s journey from numbers to fashion exemplifies the spirit of entrepreneurship and the power of embracing life’s twists and turns.
